High Self Esteem is not of God

Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Philippians 2:3

Pride

Many define self-esteem as “feelings of worth based on their skills, accomplishments, status, financial resources, or appearance". This definition can be summarized as having pride, of being proud of one's self. A person that has high self esteem does not have a need for God because they have become their own gods .

God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. James 4:6

America the land of the Proud

Building self esteem and self confidence is now a major drive in the culture, even the churches are joining the chorus. Everyone want to feel like they are the most important person, that the world revolves around them. It is a spirit of arrogance, a spirit of lie
because the Bible says that man is like the grass that we see today and tomorrow is gone. This spirit of pride has resulted in self love, a prophetic description of the last days.

What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?Psalm 8:4

Satan; father of high self esteem

Satan had high self esteem. He had belief in himself and because of that the Bible said he sinned. And now he is bringing this same mindset to humanity to make them believe in themselves. We are in the mad quest to feel good about ourselves so that others may respect us.

Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. So I threw you to the earth.Ezekiel 28:17

Pride before a Fall

Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. Better to be lowly in spirit along with the oppressed than to share plunder with the proud.Proverbs 16:18,19

For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. Isaiah 57:15

True Self Esteem

True self esteem is believing that one cannot achieve anything on their own but by God's power.  Because our Father in Heaven is the King of the universe, there is no reason for us to seek to prove to others of our self worth. To hold ourselves in high esteem is to believe in a lie, because as human beings we are an extremely fragile creation. The beasts of the forest are able to defend themselves, but us human need tools in order do so. Any little accidents and we are dead, incapacitated and are soon forgotten. We should never put trust in ourselves but should seek daily to surrender ourselves to God. Let us get rid of that spirit of self worthiness. It is of the world and not of God. Let us seek to have a humble spirit, for the "meek will inherit the earth:.

Thus says the LORD, "Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; 24but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the LORD who exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on earth; for I delight in these things.Jeremiah 9:23,24

The sanctuary in Heaven

Let them construct a sanctuary for Me, that I may dwell among them. 9 "According to all that I am going to show you, as the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furniture. Exodus 25:8,9 God told Moses to build him a sanctuary according to the pattern that he sees. Does that mean God created a blue print for him or is it a pattern of something in heaven? Copy of the True Tabernacle The sanctuary that they built in the wilderness is a copy of the one that is in heaven. Yes there is a sanctuary in heaven. So if there is a sanctuary in heaven , does that mean there is a High Priest also? They serve at a sanctuary that is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: "See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain." Hebrews 8:5

Is the United States a Christian nation?

Why calling the United states a Christian country is detrimental to Christianity.  The United states was clearly influenced by Christian principles; The pilgrims were escaping persecutions from Europe and while many of them practiced Christianity, they were still suffering persecution in Europe from state churches. The founding fathers, some being Christians, made sure to separate the church from the state. They well knew of the carnage that comes as a result of having a state religion. And so, the US became one of the rare countries without a state religion. Each person was left to follow the dictate of his own conscience.  When you call a country by a specific religion, people associate all of its behaviors with said religion. Note this example: Slavery was an institution in the United states; this would also mean that the brutality of slavery was accepted a Christian precept. Even the mistreatment of the Indians would have been considered a Christian precept. In fact,...

When God calls you. The fiery way to God

"Why is my life so hard? Why are these things happening to me? I pray to God for healing, but there is no healing. I pray for better finances, but no money is forthcoming. I am so tired of these struggles; I am on the verge of giving up. I might as well live life the way I want to and hope to die soon. Have these thoughts ever come to your mind? These are thoughts many will encounter as they ascend the mountain of God. For many of us, life began well. We had a great time in our youth; we believed in love, we believed the future was bright, and we felt whole as a person. But somewhere along the way, hardship showed up. An illness, a broken heart, the death of a loved one, or broken aspirations sent us into despair and grief. Suddenly, life became dark and hopeless. But then, we heard the voice of God. We heard someone preach, 'Come to Jesus and all will be well; come to Jesus and He will give you the desires of your heart.' So we came to Jesus, hoping that we were back on ...

Modern Man
We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:6
