The mark of the beast, the dreaded mark of the beast spoken of in the book of revelation chapter 13 is coming and it is hasting greatly. But many are still in darkness concerning what the mark of the beast is and how it will come. In this study we will go over some key things concerning the mark of the beast.
The first question is what is the beast ?
The beast spoken of is beast that look like a lamb 🐑 in Revelation chapter 13, but the Bible says it speak like a dragon.
What is a beast in Bible prophecy?
A beast in Bible prophecy is a symbol of a nation. Its nothing strange to us these days. If I was to show you an eagle 🦅 and ask you what country does it represent? You will easily say it represents the united states. If i was to show you a bear 🐻 you will say Russia. In the book of daniel chapter 7, the Bible clearly break down the principle that a beast is a symbol for a nation, a kingdom, an empire. So in Revelation chapter 13 we see two beast, one has 7 heads and ten horns, the other looks like a lamb but speak like a dragon. Our focus today is on the second beast that looks like a lamb.
Revelation 13.
And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men..
Revelation 13.And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
The beast that looks like a lamb 🐑 is a major nation, a powerful nation that comes into power at the end of time. But this beast looks like a lamb. What does it means that the beast looks what a lamb ? What is the application of a lamb in the Bible ? What does a lamb symbolizes? A lamb in the Bible represents Jesus. In the book of John chapter 1:29 it says, "The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. " The lamb is symbol of Christianity, a follower of Christ. So we a major nation at the end of time that claim to be a Christian nation but speaks like a dragon. What does the dragon represent?
The dragon in the book of revelation is in the primary sense the symbol of Satan. Revelation 12:7-9 identity the dragon as Satan, the devil who was cast out from heaven. In the secondary sense, the dragon represents the pagan Roman Empire, the nation the devil used to persecute the followers of Christ. So here in Revelation 13 we have a nation that looks like a lamb ( Christian) but speaks like a dragon ( satan, persecuting power) . A nation who looks Christian but whose actions look Satanic, a deceptive nation. Friends, this nation is none other but the United States of America 🇺🇸.
The United States is the second beast of revelation chapter 13. It professes to be doing good in the world but is in reality promoting all manner of wickedness in the world. United States is the number exporter of weapons in the world, also the number maker of pornography in the world. Its movies and music are promoting filth, corrupting the world. It is this nation who has on its money in " God we trust," this nation who will introduce a law, a mark that will persecute all who refuse to bow down to it. A law that will prevent you from buying and selling unless you worship according to the dictates of that law.
What is the mark of the beast ?
The beast referred to is the first beast in chapter 13. For the sake of time, the first beast is the Roman catholic papacy. What is the mark of the Papacy? A mark or a seal is a symbol of power. We will let the Roman catholic church itself tells you what is their mark.
It is well to remind the Presbyterians, Baptists, Methodists, and all other Christians, that the Bible does not support them anywhere in their observance of Sunday. Sunday is an institution of the Roman Catholic Church, and those who observe the day observe a commandment of the Catholic Church.
