On October 8th, U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hesketh confirmed reports that the U.S. military was planning to livestream the U.S. Army firing squad execution of Nidal Malik Hasan, which is currently set for December 3rd. Now, Hasan was sentenced to death by a military tribunal in 2013 for killing 13 people and injuring more than 30 others during a shooting at Fort Hood, Texas.
It's wild—a wild time that we're living in. To livestream death; to livestream an execution. I don't think I've ever heard of anything like this before. It's as if we in the United States are going back to a time of the Dark Ages, you know, when public execution was common, people were being burned at the stake, and executing someone served essentially as public entertainment. It seems like we are heading back there.
You know, there are many different aspects of our society that show us the times are changing, that the United States is transforming right before our eyes into a totalitarian system of government. A lot of people don't see it because we are being entertained to death as this transition happens. So, it's a very serious time. I hope this thing does not go forward. Let's see what happens; maybe Nidal's lawyers will appeal it, but it is a bad sign of the times we're living in.
We shouldn't be surprised, though, because the Bible talks about the United States in Revelation 13 as the second beast of Revelation. A beast represents an empire, a mighty nation, and beasts are usually used to depict violent, conquering nations. So, the Bible depicts the United States as a nation that looks like a lamb—a depiction of Christ, making the U.S. look like a Christian country—but speaks as a dragon. The dragon is a representation of Rome in the primary sense, and in a secondary sense, a representation of Satan.
The Bible highlights that the United States will speak like ancient Rome. Ancient Rome was a violent society; I mean, you had executions left and right. When the Romans put down rebellions, thousands of people were crucified on Roman roads. It was a pretty violent society. And so the United States, we can see, is a very violent society, too. We are always waging war around the world, and we have violent movies, violent video games, and a heavily armed population. So, it's no surprise to see the suggestion to livestream an execution because we are already so accustomed and acquainted with death anyway.
Still, it's a sign of this nation transitioning and transforming in front of our eyes into a society, a nation, of barbarism. Let's hope this livestreaming of the execution doesn't happen, but I wouldn't be surprised if it does, because the Bible predicts that the United States will become a persecuting power that will persecute the saints of the Most High. That's the same behavior we saw in the Dark Ages when the Catholic Church, united with governments, persecuted true believers, accusing them of being heretics and putting them to death.
Now, we're not saying that Hasan was a true believer; I think he was an Islamic fundamentalist. But this development shows the United States taking another step backward into the Dark Ages.
